Throughout the last several years I had been gradually gaining weight, neglecting my health and felt miserable about myself. 17 years ago I had a heart attack that left me with a not so perfect heart. I didn’t want to go down that path again. I needed to make some serious life changes. A good friend of mine is a member of Innovative Health & Fitness and suggested numerous times that I should join. I really didn’t think that I needed to, I thought I could lose the weight on my own. It took me awhile, but I finally admitted to myself and my friend that she was right and I was wrong.

I made a commitment to myself that whatever it took, I would dedicate myself to getting healthy and back into shape. After I joined, I talked with Brian Staude, a Fit Pro at Innovative. He explained the importance of a good diet, low in calories combined with a resistance training program. He was so motivating and so positive that I knew he would help me achieve my goals. I left that day with such a good attitude. 

I started working out with Brian three days a week. I have never worked out so much or so hard in my life. I added another two days of cardio each week. Coming in to workout became such a regular routine that exercising was feeling like a natural part of my life. Brian suggested that I keep a food journal which helped me stay in control of my eating.   I started making much wiser food choices. Getting weighed in routinely helped me be accountable and at the same time gave me will power to continue towards the next goal that Brian set for me. I could have never accomplished all of this without the knowledge and guidance from Brian my Fit Pro. I want to especially thank him for all of his patience and efforts in creating different and effective workouts for me. He also created workouts that would challenge my heart that were based off the heart rate monitor that I got from my daughter.

I would also like to give thanks to my friend Rosemary for being so persistent, my daughter Sara who gave me that heart rate monitor, Innovative Health and Fitness for having a wonderful club for us to work out, and Brian for all of his encouragement and expertise.

It’s a great feeling to accomplish weight loss and reducing my body fat. I am a healthier person because of it.
