PERSONAL TRAINER: ANDREA ZELAZNY

I joined Innovative in May of this year with a goal of trying to manage a health issue that had recently developed and to get in better shape overall. As part of my plan I decided it was very important to work with a personal trainer so that I really learned how to make the best use of all the equipment and what exercises would be best for me. I chose Andrea as my trainer because I had known her for awhile and felt very comfortable with her. I knew she would work closely with me to help me improve my health.

I workout with Andrea one or two times per week and during our sessions she teaches me a variety of resistance and cardio exercises. On the days that I do not workout with Andrea I come to the gym and aim to do at least 45 minutes of cardio (usually some combination of elliptical, treadmill and biking) and spend some time doing the resistance exercises Andrea and I have recently worked on. I have also participated in Zumba class at least once per week. I really enjoy Zumba because it is fun and it is a great workout.

Along with exercising daily I am also making healthier choices when it comes to my diet. I am choosing more fruits and vegetables as well as leaner meats. I have also cut back on my caffeine and sweets. I think it’s important to note that I have not eliminated any foods from my diet. I just eat in moderation. I have been using the dotfit online program to help me do this. It is so easy. I just enter what I am eating along with the portion size and the program helps me track my calorie intake.

All of these changes have helped me to have more energy, improve my overall health and lose weight. I have to thank Andrea for all her help, motivation and support because she is a big part of the success I have had.
